Meet Dr. Joshua Carter

Dr. Joshua Carter completed his undergraduate degree with Summa Cum Laude honors at the University of Kentucky with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He earned a full-ride scholarship to attend the UK College of Medicine, where he graduated with AOA honors. During medical school, Dr. Carter fueled a passion of his by spending two months in a mission hospital in Kenya, performing orthopedic care in the third world.

During his five-year orthopedic surgery residency training at the University of Vermont, Dr. Carter was introduced to Dr. Berend and Dr. Lackey, and new friendships began to grow. These relationships continued to flourish throughout his Adult Reconstruction Fellowship, which he completed at the highly regarded OrthoCarolina Hip and Knee Center in Charlotte, NC. Since then, Dr. Carter has been in practice in the Indianapolis area. He specializes in the direct anterior approach to total hip replacement surgery.

When out of his hospital scrubs, Dr. Carter enjoys woodworking, coffee roasting, and disc golf. He is active in his church and is richly blessed with his loving wife, Jessica, and four exuberant kids who still can’t outwrestle him.
