Dr. Todd Bertrand specializes in complex joint revisions, joint replacement, and orthopedic oncology. He is one of five orthopedic oncologists in Indiana, highly specialized in the treatment of bone tumors in both adults and children.
Dr. Bertrand grew up in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, often helping out on his grandpa’s farm. He graduated from Wabash College for undergrad, then attended the IU School of Medicine while simultaneously completing an MBA from IU Kelley School of Business. Dr. Bertrand met Dr. Lackey the Saturday before medical school started, as the two were in the same class. The following day, they met Dr. Berend at church, which launched a relationship that continued through their orthopedic training and careers.
Dr. Bertrand completed an orthopedic residency at Duke University, with a six-month stint at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He completed two fellowships in musculoskeletal oncology: one at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, FL and one at Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, Italy.
After residency, Dr. Bertrand joined IU Health to work in orthopedic oncology in adults and children. He joined Midwest Center for Joint Replacement in 2019 to focus on joint replacement and orthopedic oncology.
In his free time, Dr. Bertrand enjoys running, cycling, swimming, and spending time outdoors with his wife, Courtney, and their dog, Alan.
